Seriously guys PendraGONE and GUINSOO "Freak" Countered the DoTA trademark filed by Valve with Defense of the Ancients, so I think they(Valve) already anticipated what will happen if the DoTA trademark will not be approved, and also DOTA2 and DOTA3 seems unique since the new DOTA's will be played i think in a different level and source...English is not my native language sorry.

hey DotA means Defense of the Ancients, then both will have different trademarks.. that will be a long road for DotA to be owned by such company(ies)

Eul(original DoTA map creator) was succeeded by Guinsoo and after Guinsoo, Icefrog came to the scene(with better and more stable DoTA map of course!), Guinsoo left DoTA to promote League of Legends(I dont know why Eul left DoTA), and because of that, Icefrog became the sole map editor of DoTA from version 6.10-present. Valve(creator of Counter strike, Half Life, Left 4 Dead)hired Icefrog to create a Stand-alone(most probably) DoTA, Expected to be announce at the end of the year or maybe early next year, they (valve) filed a trademark for DoTA which i think irritates Guinsoo and Pendragon(or PendraGONE hahahaha).

@agent.btz: Thanks Bro...(English is not my Native Language)I think the trademarking of DoTA started when the voice-actor of Duke Nukem posted in his Twitter about his participation in Valve DoTA(I'm not sure what hero he lend his voice), after which the roller-coaster story of the much-anticipated game begun.
And about the game, put all your trust to Icefrog man. Photos? None yet, but a guy named Gabe Newell, a managing director from Valve, promised us with a "BIG 3" announcements this year or early next year. I hope PendraGONE and GuinsooTHING would rather concentrate on developing LOL and let VALVE and Icefrog do theirs.

DotA might become a first person whack this whack that kind of gameplay lol

^If and if that's the scenario, Icefrog should be the first one to refused and turn-down the offer of Valve, but he didn't, so I think the original DoTA format will still be followed. Valve's Alien Swarm could be the source engine that DoTA will be based.

Icefrog was first hired by Valve last 2009 to develop the New DoTA, even so, he still continue developing new DoTA map under wc3 engine until today. If the New VALVE DoTA will be released, I think it will 0.99% that Icefrog continue making DoTA map under wc3. VALVE hired Icefrog, Icefrog earned enough money as an employee of VALVE, so VALVE DoTA is going P2P! If Icy still going to continue making map under wc3, it would impractical for VALVE to let Icefrog kill their own game. Sorry for my BAD ENGLISH...
