Valve's DotA Coming Soon?

Recently, many DotA players is hyped up by the news regarding Valve's DotA. Things was started when some people noticed this tweet:
Had a great time in Seattle last week recording for DotA. The guys at ValveSoftware are awesome! Going to PAX? Might see you there - Sept3-5What's so special about that tweet then? Well, that tweet is made by Jon St. John, the Duke Nukem's voice actor. And it's clearly said that he was recording for DotA, which means the Valve's DotA project is now rolling out fast. And what makes it more suspicious, that tweet is already deleted and no longer there.
Wow, looks like there will be something going on at the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) Expo 2010 which coincidentally Valve will be there. And based on the IceFrog latest response about Valve's DotA on June, there's huge chance that the Valve's DotA will be announced on that event. Seems that Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends will got a new rival soon ;)

yeah as soon as this would be released maybe people would crack steam and hopefully we could hapilly play online ^_^

ReplyDeletePlease don't commercialize DotA, DotA is what it is now because of it's accessibility. People with or without internet can play it and and we don't have to shell out extra money to play it.
ReplyDeleteWhat Valve is making is a new game. The "free" Dota will always be free. If you don't want to play the new (hopefully improved) Dota, then don't pay.

ReplyDeletethere are so many pirates here, they thought dotA is free while it is an addon for warcraft III : Frozen Throne which costs about $30 after all.
ReplyDeleteyes it's good that an independent DotA game would be released because we would surely expect new features and graphics enhancement but the other side of it is that it wouldn't be free anymore
ReplyDeleteValve as you all know is the creator of Counter-Strike which turn to be one of the greatest FPS of all time and it gives the Valve lots of earnings...
what more about DotA? there are more players playing DotA all over the world...the famous you are the higher the cost...
unless if Valve would keep it as a freeware and redistributable...which is nearly impossible...

ReplyDeleteStarcraft 2 sux asz now becoz of no multiplayer on lan except for battle.net (which lags by the way) if DoTA goes this same path then I`m one of those that will also stop playing dota. Valve and icefrog will just probably amp the graphics of the characters and maps(on their new "dota") and no really big changes----just like blizzard did with starcraft 2 also SC2's story is short and blizzard will capitalize for the expansion which would just be another-all-hype and the story the same...short, to prepare for another, guess what? ...pay up to play the third part of the story.

^BMP could easily update ai maps before 'coz there was only 1 hero introduced everytime a new map was released, unlike today's map where 4 heroes came out. So patience guys! Harreke's working on it and I will remain loyal to Harreke, or maybe why BMP left because WE are too retard to pressure BMP to release the ai maps immediately!
